This website is a practicum project created by Julia Bird, a student of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Master of Public Health in Nutrition Program and nutrition communicator. Julia writes content for TalkingNutritionDSM and you can also find her on Twitter. Julia created the content, modified the site design and designed the database behind the calculator. The project was supported by Julia's employer DSM Nutritional Products, LLC, a producer of vitamins, nutritional lipids and other ingredients for human and animal nutrition. DSM funded the initial data extraction and summary statistics, paid for webhosting and part of Julia's time.
The practicum was supervised by Dr Michael McBurney, Head of Scientific Affairs at DSM Nutritional Products, LLC.
The data was extracted and summary statistics produced by Victor Fulgoni, III, PhD, of Nutrition Impact, LLC, located in Battle Creek, MI.
Technical support and database implementation was provided by Joe Mathesius, an Application Developer in New Jersey.
